fruit salad?

Earlier this week, fruits were on sale at Harris Teeter. Strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and blackberries were all on sale; buy one, get one free.
Of course, I bought one of each and got one free!
I've eaten some of them, but not all, and I don't want them to go bad. I know that I can throw the blueberries in the freezer (in a big ziploc baggie?) and they
will be okay.
What about the strawberries? Should I slice them up and then put them in freezer bags? Or can they be frozen whole?
Help!

I made a yummy fruit salad the other night and tossed it with limoncello. It was very refreshing and only slightly boozy.
One way I have read to freeze strawberries:
Remove stem and caps. Sort, wash and drain the fruit carefully. Do not soak in water, or the strawberry will lose flavor and nutrients.Do not add sugar.

Freeze strawberries individually in a single layer on cookie sheets. After completely frozen (about 24h) place into freezer containers or flexible freezer bags.

I say skip the freezing and go with Katie's idea...limoncello fruit salad sounds like the perfect summer dessert!

I think you could but they would lose a lot of their flavor. Make a strawberry banana smoothie!

You can freeze them whole. You don't even have to wash/rinse them first or take the stems off. They come out better if you can line them up individually and freeze them that way before throwing them all together in a ziplock bag.

Best wishes! There is so much you can do with berries -- cakes, breads, muffins, pancakes, smoothies, jams, tarts, etc. etc. Enjoy!

So you know for next time- you don't actually have to buy one to get one free at Harris Teeter. If you only get one you will still get it for half price :)
