welcome to blogland, friends

I had an email this morning from my best friend. It seems she's started a blog. Several friends have blogs, this isn't a brand-new thing, though most of them don't know about my blog. I am not exactly anonymous, as I do post pictures from time to time, though I don't think I post too many details that I shouldn't be. Another friend from home has a blog, and whenever I comment on hers, I log out of blogger and comment as anonymous, though I write "love, Lexi," so that she knows that it is me. I've been toying with the idea of telling her of my blog, but asking her not to list me on her blog list, as my mother reads her blog, along with her mother, who is a close friend of my own mother, as our family's have been friends for most of my life. Now that same debate extends to my best friend. Do I tell her about my blog?

It's not as though I write anything bad here, and frankly, most of what I write, they know about anyway, so it is hardly a big secret. Still though, I like the idea of having some sense of privacy. Steve knows about my blog, though he doesn't read it. He's seen it, and has read a few entries here and there, but for the most part, he doesn't read it (which is probably a good thing, hehe!).

Does your family/close friends know of your blog? Why or why not?

Most of my family and friends know about my blog, but I am annoyed by all the people who link to my blog with my full name. I never ever use my whole name on my blog, but I'm the first thing that comes up if you google my name, which is rather annoying.

M is the only one who knows about my blog... i've been sooo tempted to tell other friends since i think they would really enjoy it but i always stop myself. i just don't want to lose that anonimity i feel here, i don't want to feel censored in what i can/can't say.
i just want to be able to be myself, and let's be honest knowing friends or family might read it you can't always say what you want to say... what if they just pissed you off roaylly?

that's my 2cents anyway

none of my "real life" friends know about my blog. Not even my boyfriend. I like the anonimity and that I can blog about whatever is bugging me/on my mind. I can express myself and say things that I may not feel comfortable saying to those in my life, which provides a great outlet for me when I get mad/stressed/sad.

Everyone knows about mine - which is PROBABLY why I haven't posted in weeks! Ha:)

Seriously though - you have to be more conscious when you know who is reading. For example, my brother in law blabs to everyone about what I write. It gets annoying!

I like that everyone including family and friends know about my blog so that they know what I'm doing in my life when I don't have time to call everyone all the time. But that works out for me.

Yes, I have a blog. Yes, family and friends know about it. What's more is I take no care or caution in editing what I share...but that's just me ... I'm like that in real life too. You want to know something about me...just ask and you'll hear more than I you wanted and probably more than I should share :)

My husband is the exact opposite and is shocked I share so much. He is EXTREMELY private! He hates when I post pictures that include him and frankly it's the only edit I do when posting...I take care not to say too much about him, out of respect. It's very hard for me.

It actually strikes me as odd that someone would start a blog (posting thoughts, views and life on the WORLD WIDE Web) and then hide it. It seems blogs were created to share. I guess you're treating it more like a journal?

Whatever the case, I've been enjoying reading it.

My wife and brother know of my blog, and family-wise, they are the only ones I know of... maybe it's better that way...hehehe...
