where is Lexi this week?

Happy Wednesday!

Once again, it's time for Where in the World Wednesday, hosted by Miss Classy in Philly. The point of WitWW is to post a photo of you somewhere in the world...it doesn't have to be somewhere foreign or tropical, but just somewhere you've travelled to...it could be in your hometown!

After last week's premiere post for WWW, where I was in Poland, I thought I'd post somewhere a little closer to home. This is me, here in DC, but "in" Luxembourg! I'm standing in front of the Embassy of Luxembourg, so technically, I am on foreign ground ;)

I've actually been to the Embassy several times for various events, and it is gorgeous. I've been inside several embassies, and I think that Luxembourg is my favorite. Maybe I am biased, since I studied in Luxembourg for six months, but I am okay with that :) The last time I was there, for a lecture, I was with a friend and we were enjoying a glass of wine before the event began, when a man walked over to us, began chatting with us, and introduced himself as one of the officials from the Embassy! He offered us a tour, which was amazing.

When I studied in Luxembourg, it was spring 2001 (really? that long ago?!), I didn't have a digital camera, so all of my photos are actual prints that I had developed at the store! Remember when we had to do that?! One of these days, I should scan some. While in Luxembourg, I travelled all around the Duchy, to parts of France and Belgium, including Paris and Brussels (Brussels is AMAZING!). We spent time in Germany (have you ever heard of Mosbach? you're my new best friend if you know where it is!) and I went to both England and Poland, beginning my love affair with Krakow.
Ahhhh, those were the days...
Where are you this Wednesday???

The wooden elevator is the best part. They have this secret in-the-wall wooden elevator in that embassy ... You should check it out sometime : )

I've always randomly thought it would be fun to go to Luxembourg someday. But I think you're the first person I've known who has ever actually been there.
