good golly, Miss Molly!

A few weeks ago, I wrote about the American Girl dolls and how I received Molly one Christmas. Well, while I was home this weekend, I decided to bring her back to DC with me.

As you can see from the photos, I've been a terrible mother over the last few years and neglected my poor baby. Her braids are gone and her hair is a hot mess. She's sporting her Christmas dress, which is filthy, if you can see in the pictures! Also, her glasses are missing!!! Report me to child services!

Maybe I should send her to the doll hospital for a little TLC? While she's there, she can even get her ears pierced, should she want! Knowing how much I cried when I got mine pierced for the first time, I wouldn't want her to go through that alone...!

How do your favorite childhood toys look these days? Are you saving any for your future children?

I have Molly too, and a bunch of her accessories! My sister and I were very careful with these items and they're in great shape. My Barbies however? Not too good!

I can't believe that doll hospital exists. And ear piercing? Shocking!

Haha, mine looks like that too (my non American Girl doll, that is). Her hair is messy and her clothes are outdated. I think it's time for a makeover and some shopping.

I think I am too old to have had an American Girl doll... Or at least they didn't become popular until after I was a girl. I loved Madam Alexander dolls and the ones that survived do look very well loved.

Ahh... so sweet! Yes, I'm saving a few toys and dolls for my kids. My mom saved her first Barbie for my sis and me. She still has it, love it.

Good lord, lady, that hair looks like mine in the morning! My Molly's hair is pretty frazzled too, but really, isn't part of the fun playing beauty shop and brushing out those braids?

I'm so glad you've brought her home to DC. I can't wait to say hello in person (and conduct an interview to be sure she's being treated properly, etc.).
